Last week my husband's khaki chinos got caught on a door latch and nearly ripped a belt loop off. (How does this even happen?!) Naturally I had to sew the hole closed before he could wear them again.

You don't need a sewing machine and it will take less than 5 minutes to fix holes similar to this one once you get the hang of it.

Steps:

1. Insert your needle and thread at one end of the hole through the inside of the pants so your knot is hidden internally.

2. Pull your needle and thread all the way through.

3. Insert your needle back through the pants on the other side of the hole, but underneath the belt loop.

4. Continue stitching perpendicularly along the length of the hole until you reach the end.

5. Tie off your stitch, clip your threads and you're done!

The stitch will be hidden when you are finished. Your stitch will be hidden on the inside of the pants and invisible on the exterior.
