A Complete Guide to Reading Patterns

Whether you're brand new to sewing or have been sewing for a few years, this tutorial will help you tackle reading a pattern. I walk you through each step, from selecting your size all the way through cutting out the pattern pieces on fabric.

Things I forgot to mention in the video:

When you lay your pattern pieces on your fabric to cut, make sure the pieces that say "place on center fold" are on the center fold. The edge of the pattern should be even with the edge of the fold.

Make sure you note which pieces need to be cut multiple times. Some patterns have this on the pieces, and others do not. This particular pattern I used in the video only had the pieces labeled OUTSIDE the area to cut. I wrote the instructions on my pieces with a pen before I cut them out.
